Thanks for sharing this childhood favorite, Clare! I think I might try it on the cool side of my gas grill, cranked up hot. What say you?

It’s excellent on the grill! Very hot so the yogurt releases

Glad for these comments because I did have to use my grill after my oven started smoking 🙃

Your writing, and not just your photos, have me drooling. Where do you source the most flavorful chicken? I’d love to try this!

Hi Monica! So happy to hear it. I like Snowdance chicken - pastured, heritage etc.. Farm to People and Fresh Direct both have.

Thanks so much Clare. I’ve been getting to know some wonderful farms in Sullivan County and will definitely use Snowdance Farms chicken thighs for this recipe!

Made this tonight in the rainstorm with duck fat potatoes. Herb flavor bomb. Can’t wait to try this on a charcoal grill

It’s delicious grilled - make sure grates are super hot/clean and resist urge to turn the chicken because the yoghurt sticks to the grates until well done

Hi Clare! Making this for lunch, but a bit curious about the amount of chicken called for. I have a pack of 4 chicken thighs that weigh 1.5 pounds, your recipe calls for one pound of thighs to serve 6 people, is this correct?

Funny, realizing the recipe has been already been edited to account for this! I was reading the recipe via email. Thank you!

Three Blue Ducks of Sydney and Byron fame have a great version of this in their cookbook. They do say to remove the yogurt after marinating, but I couldn't bring myself to do so.

omg. 100% need, will, want to make this.

I used to make this with breasts rather than thighs - must do it again! So good!

If making the switch to ginger+cumin+turmeric+chile do you still use the lemon juice?

Yes - and lime is excellent with that flavor profile too.
